AntiSlide AS 050 – Permanent Slip Resistance for Mineral Surfaces
AntiSlide AS 050 is a liquid anti-slip treatment designed to permanently improve the slip resistance of mineral surfaces. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and is ideally applied to already installed floors.
The treatment is particularly effective on surfaces that become slippery when exposed to moisture, such as tiles or natural stone. However, even under dry conditions, AntiSlide AS 050 noticeably increases traction and safety.
Typical Areas of Application
Increased Safety in Bathrooms and Wellness Areas
Wet areas such as bathrooms, showers, and wellness facilities pose a significantly higher risk of slipping. For this reason, AntiSlide AS 050 is frequently used on slippery tiles as well as in enamel-coated shower trays and bathtubs, providing a safer and more secure surface.
Slip Resistance Outdoors – A Legal and Safety Requirement
In outdoor areas, safety is not only a matter of comfort but also of legal responsibility.
Slippery stairs, entrances, or terraces can quickly become hazardous. If a visitor or delivery person slips and gets injured, the property owner may be held liable. An anti-slip treatment with AntiSlide AS 050 helps to significantly reduce this risk.
How Does the AntiSlide Process Work?
AntiSlide AS 050 reacts with the quartz and silicates contained in mineral surfaces. This reaction creates microscopically small, U-shaped pores.
When the surface is walked on, a slight vacuum is created, resulting in a suction-cup effect that increases grip and slip resistance—without any visible coating or layer on the surface.
Benefits of AntiSlide AS 050
-
Increased everyday safety
-
Extremely durable anti-slip effect (up to permanent slip resistance)
-
Easy to clean
-
No visible change to the surface appearance
-
Highly hygienic, as no coating remains on the surface
Suitable Surfaces
AntiSlide AS 050 can be used on almost all mineral surfaces, including:
Application Instructions
Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the surface.
Preparation: Once dry, mask adjacent areas (e.g. skirting boards).
Application: Apply AntiSlide AS 050 undiluted using a sponge or flat mop.
For areas larger than 2 m², we recommend using a flat mop.
Reaction Time: Keep the surface wet for approx. 15 minutes, occasionally spreading the product or adding more if necessary.
Rinsing: Rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water.
The floor can be used immediately after rinsing.
Contents and Coverage
-
Set for 2 m²
Coverage: approx. 1–2 m²
Contents: 100 ml AntiSlide AS 050, sponge, gloves, measuring cup
-
1 litre – approx. 10–20 m²
-
5 litres – approx. 50–100 m²
Actual coverage depends on several factors:
Absorbency of the surface
(e.g. glazed tiles or polished granite = lower consumption; unglazed tiles or concrete = higher consumption)
Surface temperature
Grout width and condition (wide or open joints increase material consumption)
Important Application Conditions
-
Application possible from a minimum surface temperature of 5 °C
-
Avoid direct sunlight, especially at air temperatures above 20 °C
-
If present, switch off underfloor heating at least 12 hours before application
Notes
In rare cases, the use of AntiSlide AS 050 may result in a slight reduction in gloss or a minor lightening of the surface. We therefore recommend testing the product on an inconspicuous area before full application.
Experience shows that any optical change is generally not noticeable, especially when the entire surface is treated evenly.
